Mark Edgington 1st September 2022

My first introduction to Steve was in metalwork class at secondary school where the teacher would address Steve as Steven Deacon Eggs and Bacon, from then on his nick name was set in stone. I remember one school dinner time playing the guitar to Steve it was smoke on the water by Deep Purple .Steve was blown away and asked me to show him how to play it . In a short space of time Steve excelled himself and became a brilliant guitarist. As the years went by we enjoyed each others company and became the best of friends, sharing a lot of common interests including Art , Ornithology ,Music and Guitar. Steve also had a great sense of humour , I have fond memories of reciting old monty python sketches till we could laugh no more. We shared a lot of exciting ,happy times together including playing in a rock band Steela around Londons top venues, Frequent days in Londons Guitar Valley where we bought our first Gibson Les Pauls , the fun camping trips in the back of Johns van . Those fond memories will stay with me forever , they were the best of times . My heartfelt condolences to the Deacon family , I will miss Steve Deacon Eggs and Bacon and never forget him . Mark Edgington and family xx.
